Youth and Early Years Activities
We currently deliver a timetable of community-based activities. Click below to download the timetable. Our new Winter/Spring 2025 timetable will be available in January 2025.

Messy Play

Messy play is fun and imaginative. It fosters curiosity, imagination and exploration.

It also helps to promote physical development and support friendships as well as the ability to play independently. Communication and language are also developed throughout messy play sessions.

Gross and fine motor control and problem-solving skills are built through the sessions which allow children to develop at their own speed.

To find out more contact caroline.watson@shottshealthyliving.com via email or call us on us 01501 825800.

Sensory Play

Sensory sessions provide a focus on stimulating your baby's senses through exploring different sounds, textures and sights, which will help to increase your baby's awareness of the world around them.

It supports the development of fine and gross motor skills, cognitive growth and fosters a social interaction.

To find out more, contact caroline.watson@shottshealthyliving.com via email or call us on us 01501 825800.

Outdoor Play

Playing outdoors allows children to develop self-confidence, independence and self-esteem. It also allows them to become aware of limits, boundaries and challenge in their play.

When children are outdoors, they are more likely to try new activities.

Play on Pedals

Play on Pedals will teach pre-school children about the parts of a bicycle, how to fit a helmet correctly and the basics of looking after their bikes.

Through a series of fun and imaginative activities, they will be helped to develop their balance and control skills, using a pedal-less balance bike.

Science activities include weekly clubs, meeting scientists and interviewing them for podcasts and one-off workshops (previous workshops have included light painting, fire and ice demonstrations and 'meet your river' days.

This project provides antenatal and early years services for children and families.

We deliver a mixture of educational and fun activities in a group setting. Our antenatal sessions provide a range of activities linked to a variety of antenatal and postnatal topics; however, a flexible approach is always taken to ensure suggested content from group members is covered. We also incorporate a fun activity within each session for parents which includes yoga, exercise, cooking, pampering, smoothie making, crafting and pregnancy massages.

Our sessions are often supported by external partners too, including midwives and other pregnancy teams that provide further information and guidance.
